Below we list the learning objectives in three areas of development: personal, family and skills.

A. FAM/CNH 231 Family Ministry School

1. Personal Development
a. Growth in the level of personal maturity in the context of your relationship with the Lord and with your family members.
b. Growth in your insight about God’s vision and plan for family life.
c. Growth in your discovery of who you are in relation to your family system(s)
d. Growth in your understanding about your calling and destiny, both as an indvidual and as a family unit.

2. Family Development
a. Growth in the maturity level of your family relationships (Family of Origin and Current Family).
b. Growth in your ability to minister as a family.
c. Growth in your ability to relate to cross-cultural family systems.

3. Skill Development
a. Develop the ability to set up and conduct Family Life Seminars, Marriage Seminars, Parenting Seminars, and Family Camps.
b. Develop the ability to counsel couples preparing for marriage through Prepare/Enrich, FOCCUS, Becoming One, RSA-P or other premarital tools.
c. Develop the ability to use basic and introductory level family systems marrriage counseling tools, such as genograms and PO Charts.
d. Develop the ability to employ the eight core conditions of counseling: Empathy, Concreteness, etc.


B. FAM/CNH 232 Family Ministries Field Assignment

1. Personal Development
a. Continued growth in the areas listed under FAM/CNH 231.
b. Growth in maintaining personal discipline and devotional life in the midst of ministry responsibilities.
c. Growth in the ability to minister as part of a team.

2. Family Development
a. Growth in your ability to demonstrate family life as a missions model.
b. Growth in maintaining family integrity in the midst of ministry responsibilities.
c. Continued growth in the areas listed under FAM/DNH 231.

3. Skill Development
a. Growth in family counseling skills.
b. Growth in public presentation skills.
c. Growth in family lifestyle skills taught in the lecture phase.
